Winchester's 2nd Annual Rib Competition returns!

Winchester is gearing up for a smoky, finger-licking good time! The 2nd Annual Winchester Rib Competition will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, hosted at Foodland Winchester, bringing together BBQ lovers, local vendors, and the community – all in support of an important local cause. This year’s competition will see talented pitmasters and backyard BBQ teams from across the area battle it out for the title of Best Ribs in Winchester. But it’s not just about the food – all proceeds from the event will go to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH) Cancer Care Fund, helping support local cancer care services that make a difference in our community. “We’re thrilled to be back for a second year,” said Falon Wallace, event organizer. “Last year’s event was an incredible success, and this year we’re proud to combine great food and community fun with giving back to WDMH and supporting local cancer care.” Event Details Date: Saturday, August 23, 2025 Time: 8am - 5pm Location: Foodland Winchester Alongside the sizzling competition, visitors can enjoy browsing local vendor booths, a bouncy castle for the kids and soaking in the festive atmosphere, and new this year - there will be ribs for sale!
