A celebration of agriculture

Amazing things happen when a dedicated group of agriculture enthusiasts within the Dundas community get together to organize an evening of food, fundraising, and socializing, to celebrate the 2025 inductees into the Dundas Agriculture Hall of Fame on April 12th, 2025 This event started with the Dundas Federation of Agriculture in 2015 and has been supported by the amazing volunteers in this Agricultural community. The fundraising event recognition is now held every 2 years and coincides with the Dundas Hall of Fame Inductions. Since its inception, this event has given back to our community, providing over $55,000 to local organizations in need. Revenue generated from ticket sales, live and silent auctions, and donations added significantly to the total raised this year to give back to our community and in doing so, the committee determined that two worthy organizations were a perfect fit to receive this year’s event support. Firstly, Community Food Share: receiving a cheque for $6,000 on their behalf was Team Lead Jane Schoones presented by Leslie Johnson – event committee member. Next a worthy local organization run by the Chesterville United Church called FAITH (Food Always In The Home) Pantry was on hand to receive one of its biggest donations ever, accepted by Christine Cross-Barkley and Kim Henbest, and presented by event committee chair Ashley Johnson–Sommer. The organizing committee extends their deepest gratitude to their volunteers, donors, and participants who made this event such a success, and are proud to announce that the event raised an impressive amount of funding. This achievement is a testament to the unwavering support and generosity of our community. From individual contributions to industry support, every penny collected reflects a shared commitment to making a positive difference to those in need.
